FAQ
Q: What do I need to bring for the first day of class? What supplies do I need to prepare?
A: Every student needs to have an extra set of changing clothes in their cubbies - short sleeve and long sleeve shirts, pants, underwear, socks, and pair of shoes. Also bring a water bottle/thermos and a box of child-size face masks. Fitted sheets and blankets should be brought in when your child is ready to stay for naptime. Bring the bedding in a tote bag to keep in their cubbies. Bedding needs to be taken home every Friday to be washed. If your child is not potty trained, then also bring a pack of diapers/pull-ups and a box of wipes. A list of other supplies will be distributed by classroom teachers on the first day of class.
Q: Are children required to wear masks?
A: No, face masks are now optional. However, masks should be worn if exhibiting illness or symptoms.
Q: Can we tour the school?
A: Unfortunately we do not offer in-person tours. However, we have pictures of our facility in the Gallery page. If you have a specific question about our program, you can email us anytime.
Q: What days are the children off from school? Does the school have a calendar?
A: We mostly follow the DOE school closings except certain days. Please take a look at our school calendar.
Q: What is the class size? What is the teacher-student ratio?
A: 2 years old -- maximum 12 children
3 years old -- maximum 15 children
4 years old -- maximum 18-20 children
There will be at least 2 teachers in each classroom; there will also be a part-time teacher's aide in some classrooms.
Q: What is the latest time I can drop off my child?
A: You may drop off or pick up any time between the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm for private pay and DOE Extended Day/Year children. DOE School Day/Year children may be dropped off or picked up any time between the hours of 8:40am to 3:00pm (if after care past 3:00pm is needed, then please speak to our office administrators). However, we do encourage families to arrive by 9:00am so children can participate in Morning Circle Time, and pick up before 5:30pm. All children in all classes will be brought to the first floor classroom for dismissal after 5:30pm.
Q: Will my child be marked late?
A: No, children are not marked for lateness. We only indicate if a child is present or absent on the attendance.
Q: What do my children do in school? Do you have a schedule?
A: The children are engaged to participate in a variety of activities and learning experiences throughout the day from story time to music to arts and crafts. Take a look at a sample schedule of the children's typical day at school.
Q: What is the best way to reach the school if I have a question?
A: Sending us an email is the best way to get answers from us. We cannot always answer the phone especially off hours and on weekends, but our administrators can check email when they are out of the office.
